Job summary

MBDA is seeking a Navigation Algorithm Design Engineer to join the Guidance, Control and Navigation (GCN) team in a fast-paced environment. You will work on developing and evaluating navigation algorithms across contract and research activities that impact MBDA weapon system deliveries.

Ideal candidates have a PhD or equivalent with strong mathematical content and proven real-time programming experience, particularly with MATLAB, to support future developments and upgrades for in-service

Qualifications

• Ideally PhD qualified and with relevant industrial experience or Degree with a strong mathematical content e.g. Aerospace Engineering, Control Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics
• Previous demonstrable programming, real-time implementation, validation & verification and navigation experience
• Strong programming skills are required including MATLAB
• Relevant experience with the state-of-the-arts navigation algorithms, Navigation Algorithm design, comparative evaluation and testing is a strong advantage

Responsibilities

• Develop and evaluate navigation algorithms as part of the Guidance, Control and Navigation (GCN) department
• Lead research and development studies to investigate algorithms for future developments
• Support initial missile feasibility and concept studies through algorithmic work
• Assist in upgrades for in-service products and related initiatives
