We are seeking a Nature Economist to play a pivotal role in assessing the economic value of natural and social capital, helping businesses and communities make informed decisions that align with sustainability principles. You’ll be at the heart of integrating nature-based solutions into resource and infrastructure sectors, ensuring a holistic ecosystem-wide perspective in decision-making.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct economic analyses of natural capital, ecosystem services, and biodiversity to support sustainable resource management.
  • Develop and implement economic models to assess environmental goods and services, including monetary valuation and habitat trading schemes.
  • Provide policy and regulatory advice on environmental economics, with a focus on IFC Performance Standard 6.
  • Work with multidisciplinary teams to integrate economic insights into project and community risk assessments.
  • Drive business development, contributing to proposals and tenders related to natural capital accounting.
  • Prepare technical reports, economic valuations, and business cases for environmental projects.
What You Bring
  • Degree in Environmental Economics, Natural Resource Economics, or a related field (Master's preferred).
  • Experience in environmental or natural resource economics, ideally within a consultancy.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills in economic modelling and valuation techniques.
  • Deep understanding of global sustainability frameworks (e.g., SDGs, TNFD, natural capital accounting).
  • Ability to translate complex economic concepts into actionable insights for stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication and report-writing skills.
  • Willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
