Job description

Copart is currently recruiting a National Transport Planner to work as part of our team, based at our office in Bedford.

The National Transport Planner is responsible for managing the efficient and effective day-to-day routing of all Copart’s collections, deliveries, and returns for the entire national fleet of Transporters and the network of subcontractors.

You will continually review and improve fleet productivity at the most effective cost, ensuring that all customer SLA’s are met or exceeded. This role emphasizes maintaining high standards of customer service for both external and internal customers.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

• Cost-effective daily route scheduling using PTV Route Optimiser.
• Create daily reports to analyze and improve collection and delivery performance and productivity.
• Maintain routing software settings for optimal performance.
• Achieve and surpass internal KPI targets.
• Engage with subcontractors and yards to maintain performance standards.
• Provide monthly reports on MPM, fleet productivity, and driver & sub-haul usage and costs.

Essential Attributes

• Experience in route planning with routing software.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to generate meaningful Excel reports.
• Proven track record of achieving or exceeding KPI targets.
• Innovative approach to route scheduling improvements.
• Proficiency in Excel & MS Office.
• Teamwork skills.
• Experience in the vehicle recovery industry.
• Knowledge of Apex Rescue and Recovery platform.
• CPC Qualification.
• At least one year of experience with PTV or similar routing software, preferably in multi-site operations.
