About Us

At 2 Sisters Food Group, we are one of the UK's largest food manufacturers, supplying retailers and food service providers with quality products across our protein, chilled, and bakery divisions. We operate from over 26 manufacturing sites across the UK, and logistics is at the heart of our business.

We are now looking for a National Transport Manager to lead and optimise our UK and European transport operations. This is a critical, high-impact leadership role with both strategic and hands-on responsibility, managing a large-scale, high-volume transport network.

About the Role

This is a pivotal role requiring a leader who can lead, optimise and streamline day-to-day transport functions across the business along with driving commercial and strategic improvements aligned with group-wide goals, while future-proofing our transport capability.

You will manage the full end-to-end national transport function-spanning over 700 vehicles, 700+ daily trips, and a multi-site network-ensuring optimal performance, compliance, cost control, and service excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage national transport operations across a multi-site UK network, ensuring efficient and reliable daily performance.
  • Drive operational excellence through continuous improvements in cost, compliance, service levels, and process optimisation.
  • Develop and implement a scalable transport strategy to support future growth and evolving business needs.
  • Oversee the implementation or upgrade of transport systems (e.g. Paragon, Delia), ensuring smooth rollout and adoption across all sites.
  • Manage and optimise relationships with third-party hauliers and logistics partners to maximise value and performance.
  • Control and track a transport budget in excess of £100 million, ensuring financial efficiency and accountability.

About You

A seasoned leader in transport or logistics, you will have held national-level responsibility within complex, high-volume environments. You bring proven expertise in managing large-scale fleet operations-ideally involving 700+ vehicles-and overseeing high-frequency delivery schedules with precision and efficiency.

Key Skills and Qualifications

  • Proven experience implementing national or regional transport management solutions, including system rollout, process alignment, and change management.
  • Skilled negotiator with hands-on experience managing relationships with hauliers and third-party providers.
  • Strong financial management skills with proven success handling multimillion-pound budgets.
  • Cross-border logistics experience across the UK and Europe is highly advantageous.
  • Collaborative leader with strong communication, stakeholder management, and continuous improvement skills.
  • Comfortable with regular on-site presence across multiple UK locations (minimum 4 days/week).

Qualifications

  • CPC National - Required
  • CPC European - Preferred
  • Business qualification - Degree or A-level equivalent ideal
  • Strong potential for career progression with 2 Sisters Food Group
  • Structured training and support for qualifications and career development
  • Refer a friend scheme
  • Health Assured Employee Assistance Programme and Grocery Aid are free and confidential support services 365 days a year
  • Boparan Restaurant Group Discount - 50% discount for friends and family (Giraffe World Kitchen, Harry Ramsden, Ed's Easy Diner, and Burger & Cocktails) Cycle2Work Scheme
