Overview

National Site Operations Manager Designate – Accrington

£45,000 - £48,000 pa + benefits

As National Site Operations Manager Designate you will support the site operations managers across our national network of distribution centres to ensure the successful leadership and management of the Cross Dock Centres, ensuring high levels of customer service and operational efficiency whilst maintaining a safe and legal transport operation. Transport Manager CPC is essential, and you will need to be able to cover at any of the DC's around the UK, whilst being based at Accrington due to its centralised location in the network. You will also need to have experience in project management of operational activities to be considered for the role and be a specialist in Health and Safety, with H&S being at the forefront of every decision made.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ultimate responsibility for the day-to-day transport operation
  • Ensuring the provision of a first-class service in the most cost-effective manner
  • Efficient management of vehicle scheduling and the maximisation of vehicle utilisation
  • Recruitment, retention and training of the distribution team
Key Skills / Experience
  • Track record in a similar role within a customer centric transport operation
  • Transport Manager CPC is essential
  • Proven experience of delivering against agreed budgets and KPI's
  • Ensuring site compliance with all relevant employment / transport legislation
  • Proven leadership abilities with the presence and charisma to lead a sizeable team
  • An understanding of CI techniques, KPI management, Employment Law and H&S legislation
