Job summary

A public safety organization in the UK is seeking a qualified MTA Capability Advisor to coordinate MTA assurance processes and support national resilience efforts. The ideal candidate is a competent Station Manager with experience in managing MTA capabilities and strong stakeholder influence skills. This role involves national travel and offers a full-time, fixed-term contract until March 2026.

National Resilience, MTA Capability Advisor – Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service

As the Lead Authority for National Resilience (NR), Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service are recruiting for a Marauding Terrorist Attack (MTA) Capability Advisor.

The postholder will co-ordinate and support the assurance process; support exercises deploying NR capabilities; and provide advice and guidance to a wide range of stakeholders to maximise the benefits of the MTA capability.

Build strong relationships with government officials and work effectively with MTA Policy leads to help shape the future of MTA assurance and response, and will play a key role in the MTA Capability review.

Candidates will currently need to be a minimum rank of substantive and competent Station Manager. Applicants will have experience of managing MTA capabilities; and have experience of working with NR assets with a particular focus on JESIP and the MTA capability.

In addition, applicants should have strong skills in producing and presenting information, including reports, to a wide range of stakeholders and are able to influence at a high organisational level.

Key Details:

  • Hours: 42 hours per week
  • Location: An agreed base of work with national travel required
  • Contract: Full time, fixed term secondment until 31st March 2026
