Job summary

Historic England is seeking a National Projects Manager (Capital and Repair Works) to lead capital and repair projects across our estate. The role involves coordinating with consultants, contractors, and internal teams to deliver initiatives successfully.

The position is full-time fixed-term until March 2028 with hybrid working across multiple locations in the UK, including travel to sites such as Shrewsbury. A strong pension, holidays and development opportunities are provided.

Qualifications

• Experience in construction project management on public estates or portfolios of existing buildings.
• Proven ability to manage budgets, procurement and contracts with risk control.
• Experience delivering multiple concurrent projects and programmes.

Responsibilities

• Manage capital and repair projects across Historic England’s office estate.
• Coordinate with external consultants, contractors and internal teams.
• Oversee delivery to time, quality and budget and close out residual defects on major projects.
• Travel regularly to sites such as Shrewsbury for project oversight.
