A national healthcare organization is looking for a National Obstetric Clinical Fellow to join the Early Notification team. This unique role involves contributing clinical expertise at a national level, reviewing case files, and leading projects. Ideal candidates will have specialist knowledge in obstetrics, a minimum training level of ST5, and project coordination experience. We are pleased to advertise exciting opportunities to join NHS Resolutions Early Notification (EN) team, working within the Safety and Learning Directorate, as a National Obstetric Clinical Fellow on a fixed-term or secondment basis for one year. One post is available to start as soon as possible, with a further post commencing in February 2026.
This role is offered at Pay Band: AfC 8b or equivalent salary in line with Hospital Medical and Dental Staff pay scales, depending on stage of training and experience.
Since its launch in April 2017, the EN scheme has played a vital role in maternity care. All maternity services are required to notify NHS Resolution of incidents where there is potential for long-term severe brain injury. The schemes aims are to:
This is a unique opportunity to contribute your clinical expertise at a national level, working closely with multidisciplinary teams and leaders in maternity care.The role includes reviewing case files to provide clinical opinion, giving feedback to support system-wide learning from claims, and the chance to lead on an individual project for publication. You will also represent NHS Resolution at external meetings with partner organisations, and attend local, regional, and national events.
