National Manager Cymru (Wales) & The Channel Islands

Salary: £44,000
Home Based with extensive travel throughout Wales and the Channel Islands.
The British Horse Society is the nation’s largest equine charity with a passion for horses, backed by knowledge and expertise. The BHS represents and provides a range of services for horse riders, owners, enthusiasts, and professionals.
Location: This role is home based with extensive travel throughout Wales and the Channel Islands. Our head office is near Stoneleigh in Warwickshire, with occasional travel to the office.
Hours: Full-time (35 hours/week) with an early finish on Fridays. Flexibility required for evening and weekend work. Resident in Wales with access to home office facilities and good connectivity.
A full driving license and own vehicle are essential. Good IT skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and social media management are required.

The National Manager (NM) is responsible for building a strong BHS community in Wales, influencing at high levels, and delivering participation, education, welfare, access, and safety programs through events and activities.
NMs are often the first contact point; therefore, strong relationship-building skills are essential, including with Members of the Senedd, partner organizations, volunteers, members of the public, show organizers, riding schools, and trainers.
Collaborate with the Development Director and team to identify strategic opportunities to enhance services for members, non-members, partners, and supporters.
Engage with Welsh Government Departments to promote BHS objectives and ensure the interests of the equestrian community are represented in policy development.
Provide Wales-specific guidance to colleagues and support staff and contribute to influencing strategies.
