Job summary

Compass Community Limited seeks a Senior Speech and Language Therapist to provide clinical leadership, professional oversight and strategic direction for Speech and Language Therapy across Compass Community Schools.

You will help shape a growing service with trauma-informed practice, lead national training and workforce development, and supervise therapists to deliver high-quality support for children and young people, with travel across sites required.

Qualifications

• Significant experience within specialist education and/or therapeutic services.
• Experience supervising and managing Speech and Language Therapists.
• Experience of clinical leadership and service development.
• Strong knowledge of trauma, attachment, neurodiversity and communication needs.
• Experience developing others through supervision, training, coaching and consultation.
• A commitment to evidence-informed, trauma-informed and neurodiversity-affirming practice.
• A passion for improving services and creating sustainable, high-quality practice.
• Experience within specialist education, residential care, multidisciplinary teams or regional/multi-site services would be advantageous, as would additional training in areas such as Autism, Developmental Language Disorder, Attachment, Trauma, Sensory Integration or AAC.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical leadership to Speech and Language Therapists across Compass Community Schools.
• Lead development of clinical standards, pathways and quality assurance across the service.
• Oversee training, supervision and workforce development at national level.
• Offer specialist advice on complex communication needs to school teams.
• Support the establishment of a Speech and Language Therapy Champion programme across schools.
