Job summary

Compass Community Schools is seeking a Speech and Language Therapist to help children and young people communicate, participate and thrive in school settings. You will observe, consult, coach, model and train staff to reduce communication barriers and support inclusion across classrooms.

You will work with SENDCos, teachers and families, contribute to learner reviews, MDT discussions, and plan universal, targeted or specialist support.

Qualifications

• HCPC registered and a member of RCSLT.
• Experience with SEND and complex needs.
• Confident managing a caseload and working independently.
• Experience delivering consultation, advice and training to education teams.
• Translate clinical expertise into practical strategies staff can use.
• Passionate about communication-accessible, neurodiversity-affirming and trauma-informed practice.
• Willingness to travel between Compass Community Schools.

Responsibilities

• Provide observation, consultation, coaching and training to school staff to reduce communication barriers.
• Support development of universal, targeted and specialist communication provision.
• Collaborate with SENDCos, school leaders and families to plan learner support.
• Contribute to learner reviews and multidisciplinary discussions.
