National Hire Controller
Smethwick based
Full-time, Permanent - Monday to Friday
£28,000 to £32,000 per annum


Are you ready to take your experience in hire or customer service to a new level - where your voice matters, your ideas are heard, and your impact is felt?

We are looking for a proactive and personable National Hire Controller to join a growing, nationwide business that is built on service, teamwork, and genuine industry expertise. You will be part of a trusted, collaborative team that supports major customers across the UK - keeping equipment moving, sites operating, and standards high.

What You will Be Doing:
  • Manage incoming hire enquiries from key and national accounts by phone and emai
  • Coordinate with depots nationwide to check availability and organise prompt, reliable fulfilment
  • Build strong relationships with internal teams, including sales, operations and depot managers
  • Resolve any issues or delays with professionalism and urgency
  • Produce and analyse performance reports to support the wider commercial and sales team
  • Quote accurately and follow up on opportunities - driving conversion and customer satisfaction

What we are looking for?
  • Experience in a hire desk, rental coordination or scheduling.
  • Knowledge of the powered access, plant, or tool hire industry is advantageous
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills - able to juggle priorities calmly
  • A solutions-focused attitude and a desire to deliver service that sets you apart
  • IT confident, with a good grasp of MS Office and hire management systems
  • A collaborative mindset and strong geographical knowledge of the UK
