Job summary

Forestry England is seeking a Forest Resilience Skills and Capability Lead to shape the national approach to sustainable forest management across England. You will drive the development and delivery of forest resilience work, collaborating with colleagues, researchers and external partners.

This fixed-term appointment runs to 31 March 2029 (with possible extension), 37 hours per week, national remit and flexible location.

Qualifications

• Provide technical leadership on forest resilience across the organisation.
• Collaborate with colleagues, researchers and external partners to translate evidence into practical guidance and tools.
• Support the implementation of the Forest Resilience Strategy and Action Plan.
• Contribute to the development of the next iteration of the Forest Resilience Strategy and Action Plan.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership on forest resilience, upskilling colleagues.
• Work with researchers and partners to translate science into tools.
• Support implementation of the Forest Resilience Strategy.
• Contribute to next iteration of the Strategy and Action Plan.
• Collaborate on DEFRA-funded projects to strengthen resilience.
