Job summary

Superdrug is seeking a Fleet/Transport Manager in Dunstable who will oversee all fleet operations with national travel. The role includes ensuring health and safety compliance, managing budgets, and coordinating with transport teams to support store and distribution centre deliveries.

You will lead supplier relationships, review performance, and drive improvements in efficiency and environmental practices across the network.

Responsibilities

• Fully accountable for health, safety, and compliance within fleet management operations to meet legal requirements as well as the health and safety of 3rd party fleet maintenance providers operating on site and within the DC’s VMUs.
• Fully accountable for the fleet management related aspects of on-time and in-full service delivery to stores and DCs, working closely with key stakeholders to develop best practices across the network, thereby building risk awareness.
• Working with transport operational and planning teams to ensure the core fleet is optimally sized, correctly balanced, and suitably located within the network to meet yearly requirements.
• Ensuring all costs are in line with budget and taking action to address any overspend.
• Constructively managing 3rd party supplier servicing relationships via weekly/monthly reviews to ensure alignment with ASW requirements and contractual obligations.

Here’s The Exciting Bit… A Day Includes

• Checking in with the transport teams to ensure that national fleet availability supports operational needs.
• Tracking costs and paying invoices to ensure kit is available to support the network.
• Making sure that all costs are in line with budget and processed efficiently.
• Liaising with vehicle maintenance providers to ensure services are meeting agreed requirements.
• Reviewing weekly compliance and implementing corrective actions alongside the Transport Team.
• Supporting investigations and implementing corrective actions when accidents and near misses occur.
• Exploring new technologies and equipment to support efficiencies and environmental practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Fully accountable for the fleet management related aspects of on-time and in-full-service delivery to stores and DCs Working closely with key stakeholders to develop and instil best practices across the network, thereby developing a culture of risk awareness and management across the team.
• Working with transport operational and planning teams to ensure that the core fleet is optimally sized, correctly balanced, and suitably located within the network, to meet operational requirements throughout the year.
• Ensuring that all costs are in line with budget and take action to address any overspend.
• Constructively managing the 3rd party supplier servicing relationship via weekly and monthly reviews to ensure alignment with ASW requirements and contractual obligations.
• Making sure all training material meets ASW standards.
• Ensuring that all relevant legislation is adhered to with regards to driver working hours whilst maximising safety across the transport network.
• Working with site transport teams to ensure compliance met across Fleet maintenance.
