Job summary

Superdrug Stores in Dunstable is seeking a fleet management professional to oversee transport operations across the network, ensuring vehicle maintenance, cost control and regulatory compliance. The role involves coordinating with transport teams to keep fleets available and compliant while supporting national travel requirements.

Responsibilities

• Fully accountable for health, safety and compliance within fleet management to meet legal requirements and ensure safety of third-party providers on site and within VMUs.
• Manage on-time and in-full service delivery by coordinating with stores and DCs and driving best practices across the network.
• Collaborate with transport planning teams to size and locate core fleet to meet annual requirements.
• Control costs to stay within budget and address overspend.
• Oversee third-party servicing via weekly/monthly reviews to ensure alignment with ASW requirements.
• Ensure training materials meet ASW standards.

• Checkingin with the transport teams to ensure that national fleet availabilitysupports operational needs.
• Trackingcosts and paying invoices to ensure kit is available to support the network.
• Makingsure that all costs are in line with budget and processed efficiently.
• Liaisingwith vehicle maintenance providers to ensure services are meeting agreedrequirements.
• Reviewingweekly compliance and implementing corrective actions alongside theTransport Team.
• Supportinginvestigations and implementing corrective actions when accidents and nearmisses occur.
• Exploringnew technologies and equipment to support efficiencies and environmentalpractices.

Key Responsibilities:

• Fullyaccountable for all aspects of health, safety, and compliance within fleetmanagement operations to meet legal requirements as well as the health andsafety of 3rd party fleet maintenance providers operating on site andwithin the DC’s Vehicle Maintenance Units (VMUs).
• Fullyaccountable for the fleet management related aspects of on-time andin-full-service delivery to stores and DCs
  Workingclosely with key stakeholders to develop and instil best practices acrossthe network, thereby developing a culture of risk awareness and managementacross the team.
• Workingwith transport operational and planning teams to ensure that the corefleet is optimally sized, correctly balanced, and suitably located withinthe network, to meet operational requirements throughout the year.
• Ensuringthat all costs are in line with budget and take action to address anyoverspend.
• Constructivelymanaging the 3rd party supplier servicing relationship via weekly andmonthly reviews to ensure alignment with ASW requirements and contractualobligations.
• Makingsure all training material meets ASW standards.
• Ensuringthat all relevant legislation is adhered to with regards to driver workinghours whilst maximising safety across the transport network.
• Working with site transport teams to ensurecompliance met across Fleet maintenance.
