Job summary

British Engineering Services Group is recruiting for a National Machinery Engineer Surveyor to inspect and report on industrial machinery across the UK. The role requires travel away from home Monday to Friday, with occasional weekend travel and a base in Central England with good transport links.

You will inspect equipment from lifts to MEWPs, complete detailed reports, and ensure compliance with LOLER and PUWER regulations while delivering exceptional customer service.

Qualifications

  • Engineering Level 4 qualification with hands-on machinery experience.
  • Experience with forklifts, MEWPs, cranes and passenger lifts.
  • Ability to report clearly and complete detailed customer reports via tablets/mobile devices.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out rigorous inspections to identify defects and prevent incidents.
  • Complete detailed inspection reports.
  • Ensure customers comply with LOLER and PUWER regulations.
  • Provide excellent customer service while representing BES Group professionally.

This is a national role that will require significant travel. Your BAU working pattern will be away from home, meaning you must be able to work away from home Monday to Friday each week, and on some occasions, weekend travel will be required. We are preferably looking for our National Engineer Surveyor to be based in Central England, with good transport links, for this role.

What will you be doing?

As a National Machinery Engineer Surveyor for British Engineering Services Group, you will be travelling and inspecting, testing and reporting on industrial machinery from passenger lifts and escalators, to MEWP’s, forklift trucks and cranes, delivering an excellent service and helping make sure everyone goes home safely at the end of the day.

You will:

  • Carry out rigorous inspections to identify defects and help prevent potential, avoidable incidents
  • Complete detailed reports
  • Ensure all customers are compliant with vital regulations that help govern their industry (including LOLER and PUWER)
  • Always provide the exceptional level of customer service expected from our team, whilst representing our brilliant company professionally

  • A minimum standard starting salary of £40,500, depending on experience and location

To join our team, you will need:
  • An Engineering qualification at Level 4 and a strong level of practical experience
  • Hands on experience working with various types of machinery such as forklift trucks, Mobile Elevated Working Platforms, cranes and passenger lifts
  • The ability to communicate complex and technical problems with ease
  • A good level of IT and literacy skills in order to complete detailed customer reports via tablets and mobile phones
