Job summary

Portakabin Ltd. is seeking a Contract Manager to lead nationwide projects within the GB Healthcare team. The role requires ownership of complex contract delivery, coordination of multi-disciplinary teams, and proactive management of margins, risks, and customer relationships.

The position is permanent with a contributory pension, private medical scheme, and a 25-day annual leave allowance (plus bank holidays and optional 5 extra days). Interviews held during week of TBD.

Qualifications

• Educated to degree level or equivalent in a relevant discipline.
• Project management qualification or equivalent experience.
• Experience delivering large and complex construction or modular projects.
• Strong knowledge of project delivery methodologies and processes.
• Strong financial control in project delivery and cost management.
• Experience leading multi-disciplinary project teams.
• Experience managing third-party suppliers and contractors.
• Knowledge of Health and Safety legislation and procedures.
• Strong problem-solving skills to resolve issues during delivery.

Responsibilities

• Own the successful management and delivery of allocated contracts, on time, within budget and to the customer’s satisfaction.
• Act as a subject matter expert to share knowledge and drive best practice across the function.
• Lead multi-disciplinary teams, clarifying roles and deliverables.
• Maintain margins and cash flow via planning, budgeting, risk control and commercial decisions.
• Provide regular reports and updates for stakeholders against programme milestones.
• Identify and mitigate project risks, maintaining a risk register.
• Ensure compliance with contractual terms and manage variations and disputes as needed.
• Build strong customer relationships as the primary contact for contracts.
• Support bid and pre-construction work with operational input where required.
• Provide coaching and line management where applicable within the contract team.
