Job summary

Portakabin is seeking a Contract Manager to join our GB Healthcare team, working on nationwide projects with regular travel. This permanent role is based in Telford and offers a competitive salary, plus a company car and private medical scheme.

You will take full ownership of large or complex contracts, lead cross‑functional teams, manage budgets and risks, and provide regular stakeholder updates. A degree and a project management qualification are preferred, with experience in construction or

Qualifications

• Educated to degree level or equivalent relevant experience.
• Project management qualification or equivalent experience.
• Experience delivering large/complex construction or modular projects.
• Strong knowledge of financial control in project delivery and cost management.
• Ability to lead multi-disciplinary project teams and manage third-party suppliers.

Responsibilities

• Take full ownership for successful project management and delivery of allocated large/complex contracts.
• Act as subject matter expert in project delivery and share knowledge for best practice.
• Lead and coordinate multi-disciplinary teams with clear roles and deliverables.
• Maintain or improve project margins and cash flow through budgeting and risk control.
• Produce regular progress reports and analyse programme, costs and milestones.
• Identify, manage and mitigate project risks with an up-to-date risk register.
• Ensure compliance with contractual terms and resolve variations and disputes.
• Build strong customer relationships as the main contact for contracts.
• Support bid and pre-construction activity with operational input.
• Provide coaching and line management for professionals within the contract team.
