National Contract Manager

Location: Milton Keynes

Salary: £45,000 - £50,000 DOE + Excellent Benefits

Role Profile

Our client is a UK Leading Logistics company looking for their next National Contract Manager. We are seeking a commercially focused National Contract Manager to take ownership of key national accounts, driving revenue growth, profitability, and operational excellence. This role requires strong P&L management, cost control expertise, and strategic leadership to ensure customer satisfaction while maintaining commercial viability.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Develop and implement account strategies to maximise sales revenue and profitability.
  2. Maintain full P&L responsibility for key accounts, ensuring cost management and margin optimisation.
  3. Build and nurture long-term relationships with key stakeholders within national accounts.
  4. Identify and capitalise on growth opportunities within existing accounts.
  5. Monitor and review financial performance, ensuring targets are met and taking corrective action where necessary.
  6. Work cross-functionally with internal teams such as operations, finance, recruitment, and compliance to meet customer needs.
  7. Conduct regular site visits to assess operational performance, provide coaching, and implement necessary improvements.
  8. Oversee supplier and subcontractor management, ensuring service levels meet expectations and brand reputation is upheld.
  9. Prepare and present regular business reviews to senior leadership, identifying key trends and areas for improvement.
  10. Resolve customer concerns effectively, ensuring long-term client satisfaction and retention.
  11. Stay informed on industry trends, competitor activities, and best practices in account management.
Key Requirements:
  1. Strong commercial acumen with proven experience in P&L management and cost control.
  2. Demonstrable experience in national or key account management, preferably within a fast-paced industry.
  3. Excellent negotiation skills and the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
  4. Strong analytical ability to interpret sales data and market trends.
  5. Results-driven mindset with a track record of achieving or exceeding targets.
  6. Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
  7. Strong IT proficiency, particularly in Excel and financial reporting.
  8. Ability to motivate, coach, and develop teams.
  9. Willingness to travel as needed.
Working Hours & Location:
  1. 40 hours per week
  2. Hybrid working model, including site visits and office-based work as required.
