Job summary

RNLI offers a 10-month Communications Placement (National) in Poole. The role is hybrid, with a minimum of two days per week in Poole.

You will gain experience in PR, media relations and social media, supporting the Communications Team on lifeguard rescues and incident communications. Starting 1 February 2027 and ending 26 November 2027, the placement is a paid, full-time, temporary contract with a salary of £25,877 per year.

Qualifications

• Basic experience and understanding in PR, Communications or Media
• Interest in social media and developing skills in this area
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities

• Write press releases and media statements
• Manage social media communities and posts
• Contact lifeguards, lifeboat crew or media by phone
• Publicise lifeguard and lifeboat rescues
• Assist with communications during major incidents
