Scotland – hybrid working will apply for the foreseeable future. This is a national role, travel throughout Scotland may be required.

The Healthcare Staffing Programme is seeking a National Clinical Lead for MHLD Community to support the development of a staffing level tool for this service. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the delivery of the Health & Care (Staffing) (Scotland) Act 2019.

The Healthcare Staffing Programme (HSP) team collaborates with Health Boards across Scotland to improve workload and workforce planning in line with new legislation. The post holder will work with stakeholders to assess current workforce planning tools and methodologies, and will provide senior leadership in developing, testing, and implementing a staffing level tool for MHLD Community services across Scotland, considering multi-professional approaches and digital solutions to streamline data collection. This role provides clinical leadership and expertise in developing the MHLD Community staffing tool.

The primary goal is to ensure workforce decisions enable suitably qualified and competent professionals from various disciplines to work in appropriate numbers, safeguarding patient and service user wellbeing and safety, and maintaining high-quality healthcare across Scotland.

We seek a National Clinical Lead with strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, and expert knowledge in MHLD Community workload and workforce planning. The candidate should be capable of devising, implementing, and monitoring engagement strategies to involve multi-professionals and Professional Bodies across Scotland in the development of the staffing tool.
