Purpose

To provide impartial information, advice and guidance to National Careers Service customers using various modes of delivery, empowering customers to achieve their career management goals, whilst evidencing all job and learning outcomes and support given. The Service offers free careers information, advice, and guidance to young people (from age 13) and adults through face-to-face delivery within the community, website, webchat, and telephone helpline. The vision is for individuals to enjoy more rewarding working lives and to foster a culture where career development and acquiring new skills are the norm.

You will have:

  • Hold, as a minimum, Level 4 Diploma in Careers Information and Advice or NVQ 4 in Advice & Guidance or be willing to undertake and complete training within 12 months of starting
  • Experience in delivering careers advice to adults, both individually and in groups, employed and unemployed
  • High competency in ICT, including social media and its wider application
