We are looking for exceptional people to join our National Careers Service Team, either as trainees or qualified Careers Advisers.

We seek individuals who enjoy helping others. You may come from a sales, teaching, or recruitment background, or have experience in delivering careers advice and working in a target-focused environment. An engaging personality and a can-do attitude are essential to provide a warm, welcoming experience for our customers and to seek solutions that help them progress in their careers.

Flexibility is important, as every day varies in the National Careers Service. As a Careers Adviser, you will make customers feel welcome and comfortable. You should be able to engage with people from diverse backgrounds, holding 1:1 appointments and group workshops in various settings, including careers fairs, community, and commercial venues, as well as pop-up events. Organizational skills are necessary to manage your diary and complete administrative tasks, and confidence in IT is required for delivery and admin purposes. The role involves working towards targets set with our commissioners.

Your skills will empower and encourage customers to develop career action plans, support their learning and development, and monitor progress to build confidence as they move towards employment or education.

We provide on-the-job training and support to achieve your Level 4 Certificate in Careers Information and Guidance if you do not already hold this qualification.

In return, we offer a competitive salary and benefits, including:

  • 25 days annual leave + Bank Holidays + Birthday Day off (with optional additional days)
  • 2 Volunteer Days
  • Pension: 5% Employee + 5% Employer
  • Healthcare Cash Plan, including 3x salary life assurance
  • Annual Pay Review
  • Refer a Friend Scheme
