As the New Business Development Manager Team Leader, you will play a pivotal role in driving the sales growth of our Livestock Monitoring portfolio, with a strong emphasis on acquiring new business opportunities across Great Britain. You will lead a dedicated national team of six direct reports, focusing on developing and executing strategic sales initiatives that align with our company's vision and market demands. Your leadership will be instrumental in cultivating a high-performing sales culture that emphasises innovation, collaboration, and results-driven performance.

In this position, you will provide strategic direction and mentorship to your team as they identify and pursue new business leads, build relationships with prospective customers, and effectively communicate the value of our products. You will be responsible for setting and monitoring sales targets, analysing market trends, and developing tailored sales strategies to penetrate new markets. Additionally, you will act as a key liaison between your team and other departments, ensuring alignment of goals and leveraging resources that facilitate success.

Your ability to inspire and motivate your team will be essential as you spearhead initiatives that enhance market presence and drive revenue growth. As a leader in our organisation, you will contribute significantly to the overall success of our Livestock Monitoring portfolio while fostering an environment of continuous improvement and professional development for your team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership and Management: You will lead a team of New Business Sales Managers, providing comprehensive mentorship, targeted coaching, and support to empower them to excel in their roles. This will involve setting clear performance goals and expectations, conducting regular performance evaluations, and delivering constructive feedback to facilitate their professional growth. By fostering a cooperative and highly productive team environment, you will inspire a culture of continuous learning and achievement, ensuring each team member is equipped with the tools and skills needed to succeed and drive exceptional results in new business development.
  • Sales Budget: This role is responsible for delivering a dedicated sales budget through successfully acquiring new business opportunities across Great Britain. You will work in close collaboration with the Customer Success team to ensure a seamless transition for new clients, leveraging their insights to enhance customer experience and retention, thereby maximising the long-term value of each new acquisition and contributing to overall sales success.
  • Performance Metrics Tracking: You will work closely with the Finance and Marketing teams to track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to sales initiatives. You will be responsible for monitoring performance metrics and providing insights to these teams to ensure alignment with overall business objectives and identify areas for improvement in sales strategies.
  • Lead Referral Partnerships: You will be responsible for maximising the potential of our lead referral partners by collaborating closely with the Veterinary and Trade channel sales teams. This involves developing strategic partnerships and initiatives to generate high-quality leads for the Monitoring business.
  • Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams: You will collaborate proactively with cross-functional teams, including Marketing, Customer Success, and the EURAM regional team, to align strategies and enhance overall business performance. This involves sharing market insights and customer feedback to inform marketing campaigns, developing targeted promotional materials, and coordinating efforts to ensure a cohesive approach in delivering value to clients.

Qualifications / Set of Skills

  • 5-7 years of proven experience in a customer-facing role, including team management, with strong leadership skills and a customer-centric mindset to drive results.
  • Enthusiasm for agriculture and technology, with a deep understanding of the dairy livestock industry, including an understanding of dairy reproduction, cow health, nutrition and milk quality.
  • Good leadership and communication skills both orally and written.
  • Strategic thinker with good knowledge of market trends and insights .
  • Executive presence to influence decision makers at all levels .
  • Persuasive with ability to influence others.
  • High level of financial and business acumen.
  • Proactive, self-motivated, and able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.
