Job description

Grocery National Account Manager - South Wales (1 / 2 days per fortnight)

Home-Based | £50,000 – £60,000 (DOE) + 20% Bonus + Car + Pension + Benefits

A market-leading, international food group with a strong presence across Europe and the UK is looking to appoint a Grocery National Account Manager to help drive growth across its expanding UK retail portfolio.

With a UK turnover in excess of £80m and a broader European footprint generating over €250m in revenue, this organisation operates multiple manufacturing sites across the UK and Europe. The group is widely recognised for its innovation and quality across chilled and frozen categories, supplying major UK retailers with a diverse range of value-added products including party food, vegetarian options, snacking lines, dairy innovations, and pizza.

The Role

Reporting to the Head of Retail, you will be responsible for managing and growing a portfolio of top UK grocery accounts. The specific customer base will be shaped around your experience and motivations, but may include Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Asda, Morrisons, M&S, and Waitrose.

This is a home-based position, with the expectation to visit the group’s Welsh manufacturing site once every two weeks. You’ll work cross-functionally with teams across NPD, Supply Chain, Technical, and Operations to deliver growth in both branded and private label lines.

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven National Account Management experience (at NAE, Junior NAM, or NAM level)
  • Retail channel experience, ideally with UK grocery multiples
  • Previous exposure to the food sector, with a preference for private label knowledge
  • A collaborative mindset and the ability to influence cross-functional teams
  • A strategic, commercially focused approach to account growth and relationship development

The Package

  • Salary: £50,000 – £60,000 (depending on experience)
  • Bonus: 20% annual performance bonus
  • Benefits: Company car / car allowance, pension, and full employee benefits package
