Job summary

IC Resources Recruitment in Oxford is seeking a Materials Scientist to join a dynamic R&D team. You will develop next-generation nanomaterials for optoelectronic and advanced materials applications, translating cutting-edge research into scalable technologies.

The role involves hands-on synthesis, ink formulation, and thin-film processing, with opportunities to work in a well-funded deep-tech environment and contribute to real-world impact.

Qualifications

• PhD or equivalent industry experience in Materials Science, Nanotechnology, Chemical Engineering, Optoelectronics, or related field.
• Hands-on experience in synthesizing metal nanoparticles, nanomaterials, or conductive inks in wet chemistry environments.
• Knowledge of nanoparticle surface chemistry and sintering processes.
• Experience with thin-film deposition, coating, or printing techniques.
• Familiarity with electrical, optical, and materials characterization methods such as SEM or Raman spectroscopy.

Responsibilities

• Synthesize and optimize metal nanoparticles and functional nanomaterials.
• Develop and refine ink formulations with controlled viscosity, stability, and particle distribution.
• Design and optimize processes for thin-film deposition, coating, and printing.
• Characterize materials and evaluate their electrical and optical performance using advanced analytical techniques.
• Investigate structure-property relationships to enhance material performance and stability.
