Nanny - Housekeeper - Great Long Term Opportunity

Location: North West England (PR6) – Beautiful location with excellent local amenities and easy transport links.

Salary: £36,000 gross per annum (paid weekly in arrears) (or £33,000 with car provided if needed).

Accommodation:

1. Private self-contained annex flat within family home
2. Includes private bedroom, ensuite bathroom, television, kitchenette area, and separate access
3. All bills included (utilities, Wi-Fi, council tax, etc.)
4. All travel expenses covered for domestic/international trips (3-4 per year)

Working Schedule:

1. Daily hours: 7:30 am – 7:30 pm
2. 5 days per week for three weeks each month, 6 days per week for one week each month
3. Days off and working schedule clearly provided a month in advance
4. At least two Saturdays and two Sundays per month required (the two Saturdays and Sundays are part of the 5/6 days)
5. Days rotated monthly to allow flexibility and planning

About the Children:

1. Two children aged 1 and 3 years
2. The eldest child will potentially attend nursery or private educational classes in the near future

Driving:

1. Essential with a clean driving licence
2. Car provided for work duties, including outings and errands with children

Job Description and Key Responsibilities:

We are a warm, energetic family seeking a highly experienced Live-in Nanny/Housekeeper to join us on a long-term basis. This role combines sole-charge childcare responsibilities and comprehensive housekeeping duties, requiring a candidate who is organised, proactive, energetic, and capable of fully managing a busy household. On days of sole childcare, the housekeeping will be light housekeeping.

1. Full-time care (sole and shared charge alongside Mum) for two young children aged 1 and 3
2. Plan and facilitate daily educational, stimulating activities (crafts, baking, outdoor play, messy play, developmental games)
3. Organise and supervise playdates, nursery drop-off/pick-up, and attending local groups/classes/events
4. Preparation of nutritious meals, snacks, and meal planning for the children
5. Ensuring consistent routines and supporting their emotional, social, and developmental milestones
6. Occasional proxy parenting in the mornings or evenings when Mum attends gym/classes or external commitments (with prior notice always provided)
7. Heavy housekeeping of a spacious 3–4-bedroom family home (deep cleaning, organisation, maintaining all household areas to a high standard)
8. Daily tasks including laundry, ironing, wardrobe management, changing beds, tidying play areas, deep cleaning rooms regularly
9. Weekly ordering of groceries and household essentials in collaboration with Mum
10. Cooking nutritious, home-cooked family evening meals several times per week
11. Keeping all clothing, linens, and household items clean, organised, and readily available
12. Managing household maintenance, liaising with contractors, and ensuring smooth running of the home at all times

Travel & Flexibility:

1. Comfortable and willing to travel domestically/internationally (3-4 times per year)
2. Flexible schedule with clearly defined working/non-working days provided well in advance
3. Ability and willingness to adapt to changing family requirements as needed

Pets:

1. Family has one small, friendly (but energetic) dog; candidate must be comfortable with pets (primary care not required, but occasional assistance appreciated)

Ideal Candidate:

1. Minimum 3 years of professional nanny/housekeeping experience or over 5 years in a nursery
2. Confident in managing and organising a busy, family-oriented household independently
3. Highly skilled at cooking nutritious meals for both children and family
4. Excellent at planning activities and outings for young children to ensure their development and happiness
5. Strong organisational and time-management skills, with a proactive attitude
6. Trustworthy, honest, and genuinely seeking a stable, long-term position
7. Enhanced DBS check, excellent references, and proven track record
8. Happy to complete heavy housekeeping work
