University Hospitals Plymouth has an exciting opportunity to join our dynamic team as the Named Professional for Safeguarding Adults, MCA and DOLs.
The Trust has a well-established Safeguarding Team working within an integrated framework alongside the Safeguarding Children team, Safeguarding Midwife and the MCA and DOLs team.
An opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated, dynamic and passionate registrant with high level leadership and management skills, to support the Deputy Chief Nursing Officer in taking our Safeguarding and MCA and DOLs agenda forward. This includes the design and delivery of the Trust's Safeguarding Strategy as well as the exciting opportunity to assist the Trust Legal Team in matters associated with court of protection and literacy around Deprivation of Liberty. As the Named Professional you will line manage Safeguarding Specialist Nurses for the Adult Safeguarding Team and the MCA and DOLs team and assisting them to deliver their operational objectives.
As a senior professional with recent and proven experience in safeguarding adults you will be able to demonstrate a high level of knowledge and expertise in the fields of safeguarding and Mental Capacity and have a track record of driving improvement and collaborative working across professional boundaries. This role will be to undertake the daily operational management of the Safeguarding Adult team whilst undertaking the statutory duties as a Named Professional. We would want you to act as a role model of exemplary practice to team members and deputise, when required, for the Safeguarding Manager, collegiately with the Safeguarding Name Nurse for Children. This role will provide expert advice and support across the Trust, from Board to Ward, ensuring that patients admitted to the Trust have their human rights protected. It is essential that candidates are registered nurses with experience of working clinically with vulnerable and complex patients.
