Overview

Are you a dynamic and enthusiastic GP working in Cheshire or Merseyside with experience in Safeguarding Children and adults at risk? Due to the retirement of the current Named GP for Safeguarding (facing Sefton Place), NHS Cheshire & Merseyside Integrated Care Board is providing an exciting opportunity for a new substantive Named GP for Safeguarding to join our ICB safeguarding team. The Named GP is a General Practitioner with a special interest in safeguarding of both adults and children and will contribute to the planning and strategic organisation of the safeguarding work programme in conjunction with the Head of Safeguarding and wider ICB Safeguarding Team.

Eligibility

Only GPs currently working across Cheshire and Merseyside will be considered for this position.

Responsibilities
  • Planning and strategic organisation of the safeguarding work programme
  • Training, audit, quality assurance and statutory reviews
  • Liaison and expert advice operationally and strategically across GP practices
  • Supporting GP practices in matters concerning the protection and safeguarding of adults and children, including Prevent, Domestic Abuse, Mental Capacity Act etc and promoting compliance with statutory safeguarding reviews, national standards and local policies
  • Providing specific support to the GP Practices within Sefton Place and covering other Cheshire and Merseyside Places for sickness or annual leave
