Job Title: Consultant - Named Doctor for Safeguarding Adults

Barking, Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust is seeking a Consultant to play a crucial role as the Named Doctor for Safeguarding Adults.

Role Overview

As the Named Doctor for Safeguarding Adults, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of vulnerable adults, including those experiencing neglect, abuse, or exploitation. This role requires a commitment to promoting best practices and working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, both internally and externally.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Provide expert advice, guidance, and support to healthcare professionals on safeguarding adult matters.
  2. Conduct safeguarding assessments and investigations.
  3. Develop and implement safeguarding adults training programs.
  4. Lead on the coordination of care and treatment for individuals with highly complex safeguarding needs.
  5. Deliver supervision, undertake audits, and drive continuous quality improvement.
Candidate Requirements

The successful candidate should have experience in safeguarding adults, particularly in an acute healthcare setting, and possess a working knowledge of relevant legislation, including the Care Act 2014.
