Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service (NIFRS) invites applications for the role of Equipment Engineering Technician (EET). Based at Belfast workshops, you will ensure service delivery of specialist operational equipment and firefighting platforms.
You will inspect, diagnose, plan maintenance, perform emergency repairs, and fabricate or modify parts. The role requires collaboration across trades to support the NIFRS fleet and operational systems.

As an Equipment Engineering Technician (EET) as part of the Fleet Mechanical & Engineering teams within the three regional workshops you will ensure service delivery of all specialist operational equipment and specialist firefighting platforms is met at all times.
As an Equipment Engineering Technician’s (EET) you will be responsible for the Inspection, diagnostics, planned maitenance, emergency repair, fabrication of parts and modification to all equipment and operational support systems within the NIFRS fleet of Operational equipment and support systems. The EET will be expected to work across differing trade disciplines in carrying out their role.
Currently 36¼ hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8.00 am to 4.00 pm.
A Flexible Working Hours Scheme is in operation.
In view of the level of this appointment, the post holder will be required to work in such a way as to fulfil the obligations of the post.
There is currently two permanent posts based at NIFRS Service Support Centre, 99 Boucher Crescent, Belfast, BT12 6HU.
This recruitment and selection process will also be used to fill future vacancies, a reserve list will be created for 12 months should any additional permanent or fixed term vacancies arise (offers of posts will be made in merit order).
The salary scale is SO2. The salary range is currently £36,124 - £37,938 per annum (Under Review).
