Job summary

NES Fircroft invites applications for an MWD / LWD Specialist to support offshore well construction operations, operating MWD, LWD and directional drilling tools to ensure safe, efficient drilling aligned with Baker Hughes standards.

You will read well plans, monitor mud pulse telemetry, perform basic maintenance, and communicate with customers and on-site teams. A technical engineering degree and offshore experience, plus a strong safety mindset, are essential.

Qualifications

• Technical degree in Engineering or related field.
• Industry experience in MWD, LWD, or directional drilling.
• Understanding of measurement/logging while drilling fundamentals, including mud pulse telemetry.
• Familiarity with MWD/LWD tool suites and directional drilling technologies.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; offshore teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Operate and assist with MWD, LWD, and directional drilling tools offshore.
• Read and interpret well plans to support drilling execution and well placement.
• Monitor mud pulse telemetry systems for accurate downhole data transmission.
• Perform basic maintenance, troubleshooting and equipment checks at the wellsite.
• Communicate with customers, drilling personnel and Baker Hughes stakeholders.
• Ensure all activities comply with HSE policies and procedures.
• Complete required technical training and competency programs.
• Contribute to continuous improvement with safety and operational excellence.
