About the Role:

  • Deliver engaging and challenging Music lessons across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5, following relevant examination specifications.
  • Plan and prepare high-quality lessons that cater to a variety of musical interests and abilities, ensuring all students are challenged and supported in their musical development.
  • Utilize a range of teaching methods and resources, including instrumental instruction, vocal training, music theory, composition, and music technology, to enhance student learning.
  • Assess student progress, provide constructive feedback, and support individual learning journeys, fostering a deep understanding of musical concepts and skills.
  • Prepare students for GCSE and A-Level Music examinations, ensuring they have a strong understanding of assessment criteria and musical methodologies.
  • Contribute to the development of the Music curriculum and resources, integrating current musical trends and diverse musical genres.
  • Foster a love of music in students, encouraging them to develop their musical skills, creativity, and appreciation of different musical cultures.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to create a cohesive and supportive learning environment, and to contribute to the wider arts and cultural life of the school.
  • Organize and lead musical performances, concerts, and extracurricular music activities, promoting musical engagement and artistic expression.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Strong subject knowledge in Music, including performance, composition, and music theory.
  • Demonstrated ability to teach Music across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5, including A-Level.
  • Experience in preparing students for GCSE and A-Level Music examinations.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and musical skills.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate students of all musical abilities.
  • A passion for music and a commitment to fostering musical creativity and appreciation.
  • Ability to organize and lead musical performances and activities.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
