About the Role:
  • Deliver engaging and challenging Music lessons across Key Stages 3-5, following exam specifications and incorporating a wide range of musical genres and styles.
  • Plan and deliver lessons that foster musical performance, composition, and appreciation skills, utilizing a variety of teaching methods and resources, including instrumental instruction, vocal training, and music technology.
  • Assess student progress through performances, compositions, and written work, providing detailed feedback to support their development.
  • Contribute to the development of the Music curriculum, integrating current musical trends and performance techniques, and participate in departmental planning.
  • Organize and lead musical performances, concerts, and extracurricular music activities, such as choirs, bands, and instrumental ensembles, promoting student engagement and artistic expression.
Ideal Candidate:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a strong Music subject knowledge, including performance, composition, and music theory.
  • Demonstrated experience teaching Music to A-Level, with a focus on both practical skills and theoretical understanding.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and musical skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate students.
