A thriving secondary school in Horley, Surrey, seeks a passionate and dedicated Music Teacher to join their vibrant Music department. This is an excellent opportunity for a creative and skilled Music Teacher to inspire students and contribute to a school that places a high value on the performing arts. The successful Music Teacher will be instrumental in nurturing students' musical development.

ABOUT THE ROLE & KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

This role involves planning, preparing, and delivering engaging and challenging Music lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4. Key Stage 5 experience (A-Level Music, BTEC Music, or similar) is advantageous, but not essential. You will:

  • Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of all learners.
  • Assess and record student progress, providing constructive feedback.
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom that fosters musical creativity and performance.
  • Collaborate with colleagues in the Music department and across the school.
  • Contribute to and lead extra-curricular music activities (choirs, orchestras, bands, etc.).
  • Maintain effective communication with parents/guardians.
  • Ensure adherence to all safeguarding policies.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Proven experience teaching Music at Key Stage 3 and 4.
  • Proficiency in at least one musical instrument and/or voice.
  • A genuine passion for music and the ability to inspire students.
  • A commitment to student progress.
  • A collaborative spirit and willingness to contribute to the school community.
  • A commitment to ongoing professional growth.
  • The ideal candidate will be a dedicated Music Teacher.
