Job Title: Music Teacher
Location: Haringey
Salary Range: £165 - £265 per day (Depending on experience)
Start Date: After May 2025 Half Term
Contract Type: Temporary until July 2025

GSL Education are proud to be supporting a vibrant secondary school in Haringey in their search for a creative and dynamic Music Teacher. This is a temporary role starting after May Half Term, running until July 2025, offering a competitive daily rate of £165 £265. This role offers an exciting chance to share your love for music in a supportive setting.

About the Role

As a Music Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, fostering students musical skills, creativity, and confidence. You ll inspire students to appreciate a variety of musical genres and support them in their academic and practical musical development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging music lessons following the national curriculum.
  • Teach music theory, instrumental practice, vocal work, composition, and performance.
  • Prepare students for internal and external assessments, including GCSE Music, where applicable.
  • Promote a love for music through extra-curricular activities, such as choirs, bands, or school concerts.
  • Create a classroom environment that encourages creative expression and active participation.
  • Differentiate instruction to accommodate varying abilities and needs, including SEND learners.
  • Collaborate with other departments and contribute to the school s wider cultural and arts programme.

Job Requirements:

  • Must hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Specialism in Music, with sound subject knowledge across performance, theory, and composition.
  • Experience teaching in UK secondary schools is highly desirable.
  • Strong classroom management skills and a creative approach to lesson planning.
  • Commitment to inclusive education and promoting the musical talents of all pupils.
  • Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years, barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
