An Independent Girls' school in Islington is seeking a talented and enthusiastic Music Teacher for a permanent, full-time position commencing in September. The successful Music Teacher will cultivate a love of music and develop musical skills in students across Key Stages 3 and 4.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver engaging Music Teacher lessons to students in Key Stages 3 and 4, covering performance, composition, and appreciation.
  • Prepare students effectively for GCSE Music examinations, ensuring a strong understanding of musical theory and practice.
  • Foster a creative and collaborative environment where students can explore their musical talents.
  • Assess and monitor student progress in music, providing constructive and encouraging feedback as a Music Teacher.

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent with a specialism in Music.
  • Demonstrated experience in teaching Music at the secondary level (Key Stages 3 & 4).
  • Strong musical skills, including performance ability on at least one instrument and a solid understanding of music theory.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of inspiring a passion for music as a Music Teacher.
  • Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the diverse musical abilities and interests of students.
  • A commitment to collaborative work and a supportive ethos within the performing arts department.
