Job description

We are seeking a talented and enthusiastic Music Teacher to join a vibrant performing arts department starting November 2025. You will inspire students across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 (and Key Stage 5 if applicable), fostering a love of music and supporting them to develop their performance, composition and listening skills.

Responsibilities
  • Plan, prepare and deliver engaging Music lessons in line with the National Curriculum and exam board specifications.
  • Lead and support extra-curricular activities such as choirs, ensembles, concerts and school productions.
  • Monitor and assess pupil progress, providing constructive feedback and setting ambitious targets.
  • Create an inclusive classroom environment that encourages creativity and confidence.
  • Collaborate with colleagues in the performing arts faculty to share best practice and develop cross-curricular projects.
Ideal candidate
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a degree in Music or a related subject.
  • Strong musicianship and the ability to teach a variety of musical styles and instruments.
  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
  • A passion for inspiring young musicians and developing a thriving music culture within the school.
