Opportunity for KS5 Teaching: Your timetable will include teaching at Key Stage 5 (A-Level) in Music, guiding students to achieve their full potential at this advanced level.
Your Role and Responsibilities
As a Teacher of Music, you will:
Plan and deliver engaging, challenging, and differentiated Music lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 (GCSE).
Ideally, deliver high-quality Key Stage 5 (A-Level) teaching in Music, inspiring students to achieve academic excellence and prepare for higher education or careers in the arts.
Inspire students to develop a strong understanding and passion for musical principles, theory, performance, and composition.
Utilise a variety of effective teaching methods to cater to diverse learning styles and abilities, fostering a creative and student-centred approach.
Assess student progress regularly, providing timely, constructive feedback and contributing to comprehensive student reports.
Contribute actively to the ongoing development of the Music curriculum and departmental resources, ensuring they remain current and engaging.
Participate in and, where appropriate, lead extracurricular music activities, including school concerts, productions, and ensembles, enriching the learning experience for all students.
Act as a form tutor, providing pastoral care and contributing positively to the wider life and ethos of the school community.
What We're Looking For
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a strong academic background in Music at degree level or equivalent.
Proven experience teaching Music successfully across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 is essential.
Experience teaching Music effectively at Key Stage 5 (A-Level) is highly desirable.
A genuine passion for music and a profound commitment to inspiring the next generation of musicians and creative thinkers.
Excellent subject knowledge across the music curriculum, with the ability to teach a broad range of musical styles and disciplines.
A dynamic, adaptable, and innovative teaching style that fosters a love of learning and creativity.
Strong classroom management skills and the ability to create a positive, inclusive, and productive learning environment.
A collaborative team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, eager to contribute to a thriving department and school community.
