Job summary

City of Liverpool College in Liverpool is seeking an engaging lecturer to plan, deliver and assess Level 2–3 music performance and production courses. You will use emerging technologies and industry knowledge to inspire learners across 16–18 and adult cohorts.

The role requires a degree in music performance/production and a commitment to ongoing professional development. Casual hours may apply, with responsibilities spanning teaching, assessment, and student support.

Qualifications

• Degree-level qualification in a music performance or production subject
• Minimum Level 2 literacy and numeracy, or willingness to complete it
• A recognised teaching qualification or vocational experience (nice to have)

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and deliver high-quality lessons using a range of teaching and learning techniques
• Establish a purposeful learning environment, promote respect and challenge discriminatory behaviour, and ensure students follow College policies
• Set and mark work under College and School assessment policies, record work and assessment, and take part in internal and external assessment procedures
• Track students' progress and attendance using agreed College systems
• Keep knowledge of national developments in the subject area up to date each year and review own professional development needs
• Contribute to College and curriculum strategic objectives and the annual review
• Help design programmes and teaching approaches, and support the administration of teaching, learning and assessment, working with the Head of School
• Implement innovation in teaching, learning and assessment
• Communicate with parents, carers and students, including parents' evenings and open evenings
• Provide enrichment opportunities that enhance the student experience
• Work with colleagues to identify and address students' English and Maths skills development within the subject area
