Job description
Overview

Are you a Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) registered physiotherapist seeking a new horizon and opportunities for personal and professional development in musculoskeletal (MSK) physiotherapy? NHS Fife MSK Physiotherapy Service invite you to join our team.

What you will do

Your clinical caseload will be varied and may include:

  • Musculoskeletal and orthopaedic post‑operative patients
  • Minor Injuries Unit referrals and Emergency Department (ED) referrals
  • MSK management of patients with longer term rehabilitation needs

There are opportunities to grow and develop along several career pathways. From the start, you will be supported to meet service needs and your own career goals, with learning encouraged across four pillars of practice in education, research, clinical work, and service leadership. You will have a mentor and supervisor and access to senior clinicians and leaders who will listen to your ideas, involve you in service planning and nurture your development. Clinical and non‑clinical time is generously balanced.

Career development and pathways

Our Band 6 clinical posts are progressive and offer MSK and rehabilitation work alongside primary care, ED and orthopaedics clinics. We encourage exposure to clinical areas in preparation for future career aspirations and provide pathways to orthopaedics, GP and MSK Band 7 and Band 8 clinical and leadership positions. Everything you need to grow your career is available under one roof.

If you have a passion for wider learning and development, we welcome new roles balancing clinical skills with deeper learning. We have an Education Lead and are exploring roles in health promotion, eHealth and recruitment. We work closely with wider physiotherapy colleagues, Allied Health Professions (AHPs), other health care teams, social care and the third sector to provide excellent care to the people of Fife. You will have the opportunity to experience acute service roles, primary care and service development opportunities. Service bases are located in acute hospitals and GP practices, with exploration of third sector options (e.g., with Fife Sport and Leisure Trust).

Location and travel

Flexibility in outlook and willingness to travel around the Fife area is required depending on service need. Roles will be solely within the MSK specialty.

Who we are looking for

We are interested in motivated and committed individuals who are willing to learn, be an active part of the team, demonstrate leadership, and contribute to shaping the future of our service.
