Job Purpose
A Murex Application Architect plays a crucial role in designing and managing comprehensive Murex solutions to address business requirements and challenges
This is a senior role within the GM IT technology team with the potential to expand to include wider management responsibilities. The focus will be around the Murex platform and its associated ecosystem.
The Murex Application Architect will be pivotal in the change management process, driving and improving the design processes to ensure optimal solutions are implemented to reduce complexity and maintain the stability and supportability of the platform.
The Murex Application Architect will be primarily responsible for gathering requirements, designing solutions, documenting, reviewing and approving solutions for the Murex platform to cater for the various business and technical requirements.
Key Responsibilities / Accountabilities
-Requirement gathering and impact analysis for change requests, projects and new product developments
-Development and support for change requests, projects and new product developments through the development lifecycle
-Collaborate with developers to ensure solutions are suitable, practical and appropriate.
-Documentation of solutions
-Document, maintain and promote best practice Murex design patterns
-Act as a functional design authority ensuring Murex design patterns are followed and exceptions managed
-Provide input on the strategic direction of technology investments for the Murex platform
-Engaging with the Technology Risk team to ensure solutions are aligned to the bank's standards and policies
-Engaging with the Enterprise Architecture (EA) team to ensure solutions are aligned to the wider EA strategy
-Contribute to business cases for CTB funding as required
-Undertake interviews for prospective candidates
Preferred Qualifications and Experience
-10 years+ experience working within a Murex technology team
-At least 5 years experience in a Murex Front Office environment
-In depth, hands on and broad system wide Murex experience/knowledge is essential
-Strong experience in at least 5 of the following Murex functional modules: Reporting, Post trade workflows, Pre trade workflows, Front Office, GOM, Static Data, Market Data, Accounting, MRB/MRA, RTBS.
-Strong understanding of the technical Murex system architecture
-Previous business analysis and requirement gathering experience
-Previous design focused experience
-Murex CI/CD experience preferable
-Technical skills: Java, Groovy, shell scripting, REST APIs, XML/XLST, SQL, Excel
