About this job
The Multiskilled Technician (Electrical) will be based at Salford Royal Hospital, working a split pattern of 37.5 hours per week – Week 1 0700–1500, Week 2 1000–1800 – and will play a key role in maintaining technical performance and ensuring compliance with statutory and company procedures.
Responsibilities
- Provide guidance to site staff and demonstrate technical expertise in electrical systems.
- Ensure appropriate, compliant solutions and efficient customer service delivery.
- Work as part of an out‑of‑hours on‑call rota.
- Plan, prioritise and resource maintenance projects.
- Maintain health & safety and environmental compliance.
- Install, maintain and repair plant equipment.
- Diagnose, fault‑find, commission systems and monitor facility performance via PPM programmes, identifying additional works.
- Administer and complete relevant paperwork promptly.
- Develop effective working relationships with business partners and subcontractors, managing relevant permits.
- Maintain a professional appearance and courteous attitude in all dealings.
- Carry a full driving licence.
- Work under pressure, take ownership of problems and resolve them to conclusion.
- Report issues to the Technical Services Supervisor/Manager as required.
- Attend training courses funded by Equans to support business needs.
- Train to become an Authorised Person/Responsible Person in relevant disciplines.
Qualifications and Experience
- Recognised electrical apprenticeship, 18th Edition.
- Experience working on lighting and small power circuits.
- Sound knowledge of risk assessment and working safely with equipment.
- Health & Safety understanding.
- Ability to measure, work to plans (method statements) and read technical diagrams.
- PFI/health‑care experience preferred.
- Experience reviewing detailed schematics.
- Use of a Building Management System (BMS).
- Experience with PPM & reactive work.
- Authorised Person / Competent Person experience.
