Ready to break out of the same old engineering routine? This Multiskilled Operator role puts you at the core of clean energy.

This is not just another maintenance job. This is about taking charge of some of the UK’s most advanced anaerobic digestion sites - turning organic waste into sustainable power.

As a Multiskilled Operator, you’ll become a key part of the renewable energy revolution, managing complex biogas plant operations across two Lincolnshire sites and helping shape the future of energy production.

You’ll be at the front line - monitoring, fixing, optimising, and improving every day. From ensuring uptime and safety compliance to responding to system alarms and making sure the gas keeps flowing, this is a hands-on role where your engineering skill actually matters.

About the Company

This forward-thinking energy operator is one of the UK’s leading developers in the anaerobic digestion sector.

They manage multiple operational bioenergy plants across the country—providing reliable green gas to the national grid, and working directly toward the UK’s net zero goals.

The business is growing fast, values long-term talent, and is committed to continuous innovation in renewable energy.

About the Multiskilled Operator role

The Multiskilled Operator will be based between two modern AD plants near Hibaldstow and Spridlington. You’ll manage plant performance, coordinate with engineers and contractors, and take ownership of fault-finding, preventative maintenance and optimisation projects.

You’ll also contribute to site KPIs, compliance reporting, and system health.

It’s a wide-ranging role with freedom to make a real impact—so bring your mechanical, electrical, and process problem-solving brain.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate, monitor and maintain the AD, gas upgrade and injection plants across two locations

  • Respond to faults, investigate alarms, and restore system performance quickly and safely

  • Run daily equipment checks, document operational logs and maintain accurate plant records

  • Perform and log site maintenance activities—including support to and oversight of contractors

  • Feed the plant safely, track feedstock use and prevent unplanned quality fluctuations

  • Manage spare parts, stock levels and maintenance schedules

  • Assist with analytical testing and act on results to maintain peak plant health

  • Engage in plant trials and efficiency upgrades to improve output and sustainability

  • Actively participate in SHEQ processes and compliance with EA requirements

  • Cover rota for site call-outs, holidays and unplanned absences

What We're Looking For

  • NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)

  • Multi-skilled background—ideally in an industrial, utilities, process or agricultural setting

  • Strong working knowledge of mechanical systems, basic electrical fault finding, hydraulics/pneumatics

  • Experience in anaerobic digestion, renewable energy or waste processing is a big bonus

  • Able to work with minimal supervision, take initiative, and make independent decisions

  • Excellent communication and reporting skills

  • Solid understanding of SHEQ and environmental compliance

  • Competent with Excel and digital reporting systems

  • Full UK driving licence – must be able to travel between sites regularly

What’s in It for You?

  • £40,000 – £45,000 salary based on experience

  • Paid on-call rota and overtime opportunities

  • 25 days holiday plus bank holidays

  • Pension scheme

  • Long-term career development in the renewable energy sector

  • Full training on biogas systems if required

  • Opportunity to be part of the green energy transition

  • Work across two innovative sites using cutting-edge technology
