Job summary

The Maintenance Technician role in Washington, Tyne and Wear, is with Theo James Recruitment Ltd on behalf of an established manufacturing business. You will maintain, repair and improve production machinery to minimise downtime and maximise efficiency, working within a busy engineering team.

Three-shift rotation includes Day, Back, and Night shifts. The package includes up to £52,877.61 total annual gross, with a shift allowance, and real opportunities for skills development and progression

Qualifications

• Proven experience maintaining and repairing machinery in manufacturing or industrial settings.
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving abilities; able to work independently.
• Experience carrying out planned maintenance and responding to breakdowns.
• Proactive approach to continuous improvement and equipment reliability.
• Good communication skills and ability to work rotating shifts.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults and implement effective repairs.
• Carry out planned preventative maintenance on production equipment.
• Install, maintain and refurbish machinery as required.
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and reliability gains.
• Coordinate with production teams, suppliers and other departments.
• Maintain maintenance records, spare parts and stock levels.
