Job summary

New Appointments Group in Rochester, Kent, is seeking an experienced Maintenance Engineer and Stores Manager to join a busy manufacturing operation. The role combines hands-on maintenance with responsibility for engineering stores, ensuring production machinery is maintained and spares are well organised.

You will respond to breakdowns, complete planned maintenance, use a CMMS system, and drive continuous improvement while maintaining stock records and reports.

Qualifications

• Experience in a maintenance engineering role with responsibility for stores.
• Food manufacturing experience is advantageous.
• Strong knowledge of bearings, pneumatics, electrical control systems, process control, fault finding and engineering safety.
• Experience using CMMS systems and maintaining accurate maintenance and stock records.

Responsibilities

• Attend machinery breakdowns and minimise downtime.
• Carry out reactive and planned preventative maintenance.
• Complete PPM tasks and daily maintenance checks.
• Use the CMMS system to manage work orders, maintenance tasks and spares.
• Identify and implement continuous improvements around efficiency, performance, safety and waste reduction.
• Maintain and organise engineering stores and stock records.
