Job summary

Venatu Recruitment Group is seeking a mechanically biased Maintenance Engineer to join a fast-paced manufacturing site near Grimsby. You will maintain plant assets, perform planned maintenance, and respond to breakdowns on conveyors, gearboxes, pumps and hydraulics.

This role requires apprentice-trained engineers with strong fault-finding skills and the ability to work on shift patterns (days and nights). Overtime paid at 1.25x, 25 days holiday, and a pension scheme are on offer.

Qualifications

• Apprentice-trained Maintenance Engineer with a strong mechanical bias.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong mechanical fault‑finding skills on production equipment.
• Comfortable carrying out basic electrical work only (e.g. motor changes).
• Able to work independently on shift.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Own transport required due to site location.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining all plant and production assets to high standards.
• Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) as scheduled.
• Responding to breakdowns with urgency and prioritising work.
• Mechanical fault finding and repair on conveyors, gearboxes, pumps and hydraulics.
• Supporting production with day‑to‑day engineering issues and improving reliability.
