Job summary

Wolviston Management Services is seeking a Maintenance Technician (Mechanical Bias) at our Thirsk site. The role involves delivering multi-skilled maintenance to ensure continuous plant operation, minimise downtime and uphold safety standards.

You will fault-find, repair mechanical/electrical systems, perform preventative maintenance, and support installation and commissioning activities in a busy manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a multi-skilled maintenance role (mechanical and electrical).
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and schematics.
• Welding/fabrication experience.
• Good communication and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Flexible attitude to working hours, including occasional weekends.
• Comfortable working at height and in confined spaces.
• Full adherence to safe systems of work and PPE requirements.

Responsibilities

• Carry out fault finding, diagnostics, and repair of mechanical and electrical equipment
• Provide reactive maintenance support, including rapid response to breakdowns
• Undertake planned preventative maintenance to optimise equipment reliability
• Repair or replace faulty components and assemblies
• Perform routine servicing of plant equipment including motors, valves, and systems
• Assist with installation, commissioning, and improvement of equipment
• Monitor plant performance and identify potential faults or inefficiencies
• Interpret technical drawings and schematics to support troubleshooting
• Carry out welding and fabrication tasks as required
• Maintain maintenance records and manage spare parts inventory
• Ensure all work is completed in line with site Health & Safety procedures, permits, and risk assessments
