Energy Jobline ZR in Gateshead is seeking a Multiskilled Maintenance Technician to join a leading food manufacturing site. The role focuses on maintaining production machinery and site services to maximise uptime and reliability in a fast-paced plant.

Salary is £49,603 and the position is a full-time permanent role on a shift pattern. You will work with an experienced maintenance team on planned and reactive maintenance, fault-finding electrical and mechanical systems, and continuous improvement

Qualifications

• Time-served engineering apprenticeship or recognised engineering qualification.
• Experience within a manufacturing or production environment.
• Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding abilities.
• Experience carrying out planned and reactive maintenance.
• Knowledge of CMMS or planned maintenance systems.
• Good understanding of Health & Safety procedures.
• A proactive approach to problem solving and continuous improvement.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out planned preventative maintenance and reactive breakdown repairs.
• Fault finding and repairing electrical and mechanical equipment.
• Supporting continuous improvement and equipment modification projects.
• Completing maintenance records using the CMMS system.
• Assisting with risk assessments and permit-to-work activities.
• Supporting root cause analysis to eliminate repeat failures.
• Ordering and managing engineering spare parts when required.
• Working closely with production to maximise machine availability.
• Ensuring all engineering activities comply with health and safety legislation.
• Contributing to a proactive engineering culture focused on reliability and continuous improvement.
