Job summary

Saria is seeking a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Shift Engineer for its site in Dagenham, part of ReFood's anaerobic digestion and transfer station. The role is full-time, 12-hour shifts on a 4-on/4-off cycle, days and nights including weekends, with a focus on maintaining production with minimal interruptions.

Applicants should hold an engineering apprenticeship and mechanical/electrical skills, experience with pumps and valves, and a proactive attitude toward safety and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Hold a recognised apprenticeship.
• Hold a minimum CGLI or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering.
• Engineering experience, preferably in the AD industry.
• Experience with isolations and LOTO (Mechanical and Electrical).
• Dual skilled mechanical/electrical desirable.
• Experience with centrifugal, lobe, diaphragm and screw pumps.
• Able to replace shafts, seals, bearings, pipework and fittings.
• Confident with valve replacements and basic pneumatics.
• Comfortable working at height.
• Flexible hours and analytical problem solving.
• Good communication and ability to work independently or in a team.

Responsibilities

• Undertake planned preventative maintenance and lubrication schedule on plant assets such as pumps, motors, gearboxes and valves.
• Complete reactive tasks from defect lists and record readings on on-site meters.
• Assist with contractor and third-party asset services and general housekeeping.
• Complete logs and job sheets as required and participate in projects and continuous improvement.
• Adhere to site Health and Safety regulations and attend required training.
